2 Injured in San Antonio, TX, Charter Bus Accident on I-37

San Antonio, TX -- January 27, 2017, two people were injured, one seriously, due to an accident where a charter bus and multiple vehicles crashed on I-37.

San Antonio Police and other emergency crews responded to the multi-vehicle accident scene at around 10:00 a.m. They say it occurred near the intersection of I-37 and Pecan Valley Drive.

According to preliminary reports, a charter bus traveling from Mexico to Chicago somehow crossed paths with two other passenger vehicles in the northbound lanes of I-37. For reasons that aren't clear, the vehicles crashed into each other. At least one of the vehicles crashed into the roadside ditch in the process.

Following the accident, a driver of one of the vehicles--it's unclear which--was taken to University Hospital with critical injuries. Only one bus passenger was injured. The injury was said to be minor, and she was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center.

Authorities did not say exactly what caused the accident or who may have been at fault. Their investigations continue.
