Todd Hodgkinson Killed in Accident in Charleston Twp., MI

Charleston Township, MI -- A semi-truck vs. pedestrian collision claimed the life of 49-year-old Todd Hodgkinson in the area of Charleston Township, MI.

The incident happened on Interstate 94 about 2:45 a.m., according to the report.

It appears woman pulled to the side of the road after running out of gas. She reportedly called the victim, who showed up and started to put gas in her vehicle. Within moments, a tractor-trailer, allegedly hugging the fog line, barreled towards the two. The woman was able to dive out of the way, but Mr. Hodgkinson was struck and killed at the scene. It is claimed the driver of the semi fled the scene of the incident.

The exact cause of the collision is unclear.

Authorities are examining the incident and hope to determine the cause as the investigation unfolds.
