Driver Injured in Channelview, TX, Rollover Accident on Sheldon

Channelview, TX -- January 29, 2017, a driver was injured as the result of an accident in which his vehicle overturned off of Sheldon Road.

Authorities form the Harris County Sheriff's Department responded to the accident scene at around 12:15 a.m. They say it occurred near the intersection of Sheldon Road and Wood Road.

Initial police reports have indicated that a man, whose identity hasn't been released, was traveling southbound on Sheldon Road. For reasons that have yet to be determined, the vehicle lost control and veered off-road. As a result, the car crashed into a roadside ditch and overturned onto its roof.

Authorities say the driver of the vehicle, the only occupant, suffered critical injuries. He was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment.

At this time, police have yet to say what caused the crash. Their investigations are ongoing.
