Injuries Reported after Accident in Lewisville, TX, Forces Car off Bridge

Lewisville, TX -- January 20, 2017, injuries occurred as the result of an accident where multiple cars crashed on I-35E, one of which fell off the bridge.

Lewisville emergency personnel were called out to the multi-vehicle accident scene at around 1:00 p.m. The incident occurred on a stretch of northbound I-35E bridging over water.

For reasons that aren't clear, at least four vehicles, one of which was an 18-wheeler, crashed into each other in northbound lanes. Somehow, the collision forced a white car off of the bridge and down into the water below.

Despite the severity of the crash, officials say only non-life-threatening injuries were reported. Conditions were not specified, and it's unclear how many were taken to hospitals.

Authorities did not indicate any charges or citations following the crash. Their investigations are ongoing at this time.
