Man Killed in Truck Accident on Highway 580 near Livermore, CA

Livermore, CA -- A tractor-trailer vs. passenger car collision near Livermore, CA claimed the life of an unidentified man Wednesday, January 25, 2017.

The incident took place on Highway 580 about 11:54 p.m.

It looks like the vehicle occupied by the victim stopped on the roadway after running out of gas. The 53-year-old man exited his vehicle, and was struck by a passing semi-truck. The collision left the victim three lanes over, where he was hit by a Honda Civic. The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was killed at the scene of the collision. The report made no mention of other injuries in the incident.

The cause of the fatal incident has not been determined.

The official investigation is currently underway and may reveal more as it concludes.
