One Killed in Truck Accident on Edgefield Highway in Aiken Co., SC

Aiken County, SC -- A collision between a dump truck and a Kia left one person dead in the area of Aiken County, SC Friday, January 27, 2017.

The incident took place near 2100 Edgefield Highway about 8 a.m.

It looks like the dump truck was southbound while the Kia was headed north on the highway when the two vehicles collided. The head-on collision resulted in the two vehicles catching fire. The unidentified driver of the Kia was killed at the scene of the incident. The report made no mention of other injuries related to the incident.

Authorities are currently examining the details of the crash in the hopes of determining the cause.
