Matthew Roberts Injured in Accident on Highway 287 in Decatur, TX

Decatur, TX -- A collision between a tractor-trailer and a police car left Matthew Roberts with injuries in the area of Decatur, TX Friday, January 17, 2017.

The incident took place on Highway 287 about 11:30 p.m.

It looks like the officer was in the middle of a traffic stop when the rig careened off the roadway, striking the officer's vehicle. The cause of the collision is unclear. There was no mention of other injuries related to the crash.

The official investigation is ongoing.

39-year-old Christopher Toussaint, the driver of the semi-truck, was arrested and charged with DWI.

The report provided no further information at the time of its release.
