Dustin Lanier Killed, Jessica Scruggs Hurt in Accident in Volusia County, FL

Volusia County, FL -- A single-vehicle motorcycle collision claimed the life of 29-year-old Dustin Lanier and left injured 27-year-old Jessica Scruggs in Volusia County, FL.

The incident took place on State Road 44.

It appears the motorcycle occupied by the two victims veered out of control near an exit ramp. The bike for reasons unknown careened out of control, striking a guard rail. Mr. Lanier and Ms. Scruggs were both ejected from the bike. Mr. Lanier was killed in the crash. Ms. Scruggs was transported to a local hospital, and was last listed in critical condition.

The official investigation is underway.

The report left no more details at the time of its release.
