James Edward Thacker Killed in Train Accident in Greensboro, NC

Greensboro, NC -- A train vs. pedestrian accident took the life of 54-year--old James Edward Thacker in the area of Greensboro, NC Wednesday, January 25, 2017.

The incident happened on Gillespie Street and Peachtree Street.

Some time around 7 p.m., the train collided with a man seated on the tracks, finally stopping at Holts Chapel and East Market Street. The victim, James Edward Thacker, was killed at the scene of the incident. The cause had yet to be determined at the time of the report.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
