Man Injured in Stratford, TX, Rollover Accident on US 287

Stratford, TX -- January 26, 2017, a man sustained serious injuries after an accident in which his vehicle overturned on US 287.

Sherman County authorities and emergency rescue teams were called to the accident scene Thursday morning. They say it occurred about 3 miles south of town along US Highway 287.

Preliminary reports have indicated that a man, whose identity hasn't been released, was traveling southbound on the highway at around 5:30 a.m. As he did so, his vehicle somehow lost control and veered off the roadway. This caused the vehicle to skid and overturn repeatedly before coming to stop.

Emergency personnel extricated the man from his vehicle,and they transported him via helicopter to Northwest Texas Hospital with critical injuries.

At this time, authorities have not determined what caused the crash to occur. Their investigations continue.
