Weldon Sledge, Elbert Parks Killed in Chicot County, AR, Accident

Chicot County, AR -- January 26, 2017, Weldon Sledge and Elbert Parks were killed due to an accident where their vehicles crashed head-on.

The Arkansas State Police released a report about the fatal, two-vehicle accident. They say it took place along Us Highway 65 around 10:15 a.m.

The preliminary report indicates that 25-year-old Parks was traveling northbound on the highway in a 2007 Cadillac. At the same time, the report claims that 90-year-old Sledge was driving a Chevy southbound in the northbound lanes of travel.

As a result, the two vehicles collided head-on with each other. Both drivers suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say that their investigations are ongoing.
