1 Killed, 1 Injured in Micco, FL, Box Truck Accident on I-95

-- January 25, 2017, one person was killed, another injured as the result of an accident where their vehicle was hit by a box truck on I-95.

According to the Florida State Highway Patrol, two men, a 27-year-old driver and a 31-year-old passengers, both Saudi Arabia natives, were traveling southbound on I-95 9in a BMW.

Around 3:30 p.m., near the intersection of Micco Road, one of their tires blew out, and they were forced to pull onto the shoulder of the highway. After doing so, a box truck driven by 25-year-old Adrian Noda slammed into the back of the disabled vehicle.

The driver of the BMW suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene of the crash. His passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Noda had only minor injuries.

Authorities did not report any charges or citations following the incident. They say investigations are ongoing.
