Louis Pettigrew Jr. Killed in Work Accident in Lynchburg, VA

Lynchburg, VA -- An industrial incident took the life of 68-year-old Louis Pettigrew Jr. in the area of Lynchburg, VA Wednesday, January 25, 2017.

The incident happened at Lynchburg Powder Coating about 10 a.m.

It appears Mr. Pettigrew was atop a platform hoisted by a forklift when he was reportedly electrocuted. The electrocution caused the man to fall to the floor below. Though emergency crews attempted to save the man, he was declared dead at the scene of the incident.

The report claims the victim was a self-employed electrical contractor.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
