Ronald Trich Jr Killed in Work Accident in Linwood, IA

Linwood, IA -- A mining incident at Linwood Mining and Mineral claimed the life of 52-year-old Ronald Trich Jr. in the area of Linwood, IA Wednesday, January 25, 2017.

The incident, which has been described as a roof collapse, took place on Iowa 22. The cause of the collapse has not been determined. Rescue units arrived to find Ronald Trich Jr. trrapped beneath the collapsed roof. Though emergency crews were able to locate the victim, he was unable to be revived. Linwood Mining and Mineral, located near Buffalo, is an underground active mine that produces limestone, according to the report.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
