Child Dies in Fort Worth, TX, Pedestrian Accident on Cleburne Rd

Fort Worth, TX -- January 24, 2017, a young child was killed as the result of an accident in which she was hit by a pickup while walking on Cleburne Road.

Fort Worth emergency rescue crews were called to the scene of the accident around 3:30 p.m. The collision took place around 3300 Cleburne Road.

According to preliminary investigations, a 5-year-old girl had gotten off of a school bus at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Wayside Avenue. As she was walking home, she walked past the entrance of a parking. Without seeing her, a pickup turned into the parking lot and struck the girl.

Reports say the girl was rushed to Cook Children's Medical Center in critical condition. She was later pronounced dead there.

Police say no charges were filed following the incident. Their investigations are ongoing at this time.
