Julius Cohen Killed, Marie Detler Hurt in Multi-Vehicle Accident in Bluffton, SC

Bluffton, SC -- A three-vehicle collision in the areas of Bluffton, SC took the life of Julius Cohen, and left Marie Detler with injuries Wednesday, January 18, 2017.

The collision took place on U.S. 278 about 5:15 p.m.

It is alleged a four-door Toyota driven by Erica Young was headed east when it attempted to make a left turn onto Rose Hill Way. In moments, the vehicle was hit on the passenger-side by a motorcycle. The operator of the bike, Julius Cohen, was thrown from the bike, and hit a school bus. Cohen was killed by the force of the impact. The driver if the bus, Marie Detler, was injured by flying glass. She reportedly sustained minor injuries.

The cause of the incident is unclear.

Officials are examining the details of the incident in the hopes of determining the cause.
