Pedestrian Killed in Light Rail Accident in Seattle, WA

Seattle, WA -- A pedestrian vs. train collision in the area of Seattle, WA claimed the life of an unidentified victim Monday, January 23, 2017.

The incident took place around the Martin Luther King Jr. Way S at S Othello Street about 7 a.m.

The details of the incident are unclear, but the report claims the victim required extrication from beneath the train. It appears the victim was killed at the scene of the incident. The victim's identity had yet to be disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the incident has not been determined.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
