Woman Killed in Humble, TX, Hit-and-run Accident on Westfield Rd

Humble, TX -- January 22, 2017, a woman was found dead as the result of a hit-and-run accident where she was struck by a vehicle on Humble Westfield Road.

Authorities from the Houston Police Department report that the fatal incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Humble Westfield Road and Kenswick Drive.

According to preliminary investigations, the victim, whose identity hasn't been released, was walking along the northern side of the roadway. For reasons unclear, a vehicle could not avoid an accident with the pedestrian, crashing into her and throwing her to the roadway. The driver immediately fled the scene.

As a result of the collision, the woman suffered fatal injuries. It's unclear whether she died at the scene or at a hospital.

At this time, authorities have not released any additional details about the accident. They continue to look into it.
