1 Dead, 1 Injured in San Antonio, TX, Single-Car Accident on I-10

San Antonio, TX -- January 23, 2017, one person was killed, another injured, due to an accident where a single vehicle crashed off the I-10 service road.

Authorities say that the crash happened just east of the University of Texas San Antonio campus around 3:00 a.m.

According to San Antonio Police officials, a vehicle was traveling southbound on the I-10 service road near the intersection of UTSA Boulevard. As he drove, the vehicle somehow lost control and sped off the side of the roadway. It crashed through a fence, causing the driver of the vehicle to be ejected from the vehicle.

As a result of the crash, the driver suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. A passenger from the vehicle was seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

At this time, police have not suggested what factors may have contributed to the crash. They say their investigations are ongoing.
