Pedestrian Killed in Mission, TX, Accident on Business 83

Mission, TX -- January 20, 2017, a woman was fatally injured after an accident in which she was struck by a vehicle while crossing Business 83.

Authorities from the Mission Police Department were called out to the scene around 6:40 p.m. They say it took place at the intersection of Business 83 and San Antonio Avenue.

Preliminary accident reports indicate that a woman, said to be 61 years old, was attempting to cross the highway at the time. As she did so, a passenger van turned through the intersection, colliding into the pedestrian.

Police say the woman was critically injured in the collision and died at the scene of the accident. The driver was not injured.

At this time, police have not reported any citation or charges. Their investigations are ongoing.
