Skylar Dean Julius Killed in Dog Attack in San Marcos, TX

San Marcos, TX -- A dog attack in the area of 1000 Sagewood Trail claimed the life of 2-month-old Skylar Dean Julius in the area of San Marcos, TX Tuesday, January 17, 2017.

It looks like the infant was attacked about 1:30 p.m. in her home. Officials arrived at the scene to find the 2-month-old with significant bites and injuries, Young Skylar was taken to Central Texas Medical Center, but was declared dead. The report claims the father took a short nap, and that the incident occurred during that time. The girl, it is believed, was attacked by the family dog. The dog, an 8-year-old German Shepherd, was said to be submissive upon police arrival. He has been taken into custody until authorities can determine the next course of action.

The cause of the deadly attack remains under investigation.
