Worker Injured in Los Angeles, CA, Water Tank Accident

Los Angeles, CA -- January 17, 2017, a worker was injured following an accident in which he fell into a water tank at a construction site.

Emergency personnel were called to the scene at around 2:00 p.m. The site was located at a building in the 700 block of South Spring Street.

According to preliminary investigations, a 30-year-old man was working by a concrete cistern used for a water pump. For reasons that are not clear, he fell into the water tank and sustained serious injuries.

Emergency crews had to lift him out of the tank before he was transported to a nearby hospital. He was responsive, but reportedly in serious pain.

At this time, officials have not said what caused the accident to occur. Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
