Two Hurt in Duncansville, PA, Metzler Brothers Trucking Accident

Duncansville, PA -- January 18, 2017, two people were injured following an accident that occurred at the Metzler Brothers Trucking Company facility.

Duncansville Police and Fire teams were called to the facility at around 1:20 p.m. The facility is located at 709 Second Avenue.

According to preliminary reports, two Metzler employees were working to clean a tank used to haul fuel. Details are unclear, but one of the men ended up falling into the interior of the tank, sustaining serious injuries. Nearby witnesses report hearing the sound of an explosion, but exact information on what took place is unavailable.

EMS were called to the scene, and both workers were transported to a nearby hospital. Their conditions and exact injuries were not specified.

Metzler Brothers has not released any further details regarding the accident. They say investigations are ongoing.

Authorities are also continuing to investigate the accident.
