Woman Killed in Wichita, KS, Car Accident on Madison Avenue

Wichita, KS -- January 14, 2017, one woman was killed following an accident in which hers and two other vehicles crashed on Madison Avenue.

According to Wichita Police investigators, the fatal accident took place at 6:35 p.m. at the intersection of Madison Avenue and 47th Street.

Police report that a woman in her 70s was driving down Madison when her vehicle and two other cars at the intersection crashed with each other.

As a result of the three-vehicle collision, the woman suffered critical injuries. Emergency services transported the woman to a local hospital for emergency care, but her injuries proved fatal. She was pronounced dead in the hospital.

The other two drivers were not injured. Authorities say weather conditions may have been a factor in the accident, but no official cause of the accident has been reported.

Their investigation is ongoing.
