Boy Injured in Round Lake Twp., MN, Snowmobile Accident

Round Lake Township, MN -- January 14, 2017, a child was injured following an accident in which his snowmobile crashed into a tree.

Authorities from the Becker County Sheriff's Office were called out to the accident scene around 2:20 p.m. It happened near Ice Cracking Lake.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a 12-year-old boy from Fargo was riding a snowmobile in the vicinity of the lake. As he did so, the snowmobile lost control and swerved. As a result, the snowmobile crashed into a tree and ejected the boy onto the ground.

Following the accident, emergency services transported the boy to a hospital in Fargo. They say his injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening.

No further information has been released at this time.
