Sally Anna Ottenhoff Dies in Boyne Falls, MI, Sledding Accident

Boyne Falls, MI -- January 15, 2017, Sally Anna Ottenhoff suffered fatal injuries in an accident where she fell off a sled at a the Boyne Mountain Resort.

Boyne Falls authorities were called to the resort at around 2:45 a.m. 20-year-old Ottenhoff was with a group of people staying at the resort when they went out to the slopes, reportedly while they were closed, to go sledding.

As Ottenhoff went down a slope on a saucer-style sled, she somehow fell off. Immediately after, she struck a building at high speeds, inflicting critical injuries.

Medical personnel rushed to render aid while waiting for EMS, which transported her to McLaren Northern Michigan hospital. She later died there.

Authorities have not released any further information on the accident. Their investigations are ongoing.
