One Killed in Accident on Highway 76 in Oceanside, CA

Oceanside, CA -- A single-vehicle incident on Highway 76 in Oceanside, CA claimed the life of an unidentified man Saturday, January 14, 2017.

The incident reportedly took place near Canyon Drive about 10:55 p.m.

Police say they arrived at the scene to find a 2008 Honda Civic overturned, the deceased victim still within. As of the report, it appears the vehicle drove through a signal, struck a curb and a retaining wall, sailed into the air and tumbled onto a bike path below. The exact cause of the incident remained unclear at the time of the report.

The official investigation is currently underway and authorities hope to learn more as it concludes.
