William Covington Killed in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Accident

Ponte Vedra Beach, FL -- January 17, 2017, William Covington was killed following an accident in which his vehicle crashed off-road.

According to Ponte Vedra Beach authorities, the accident occurred at around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Highway A1A and Gnarled Oaks Drive.

Their investigations indicate that 23-year-old Covington was driving an Acura TSX down the highway. For reasons that are not yet clear, the vehicle lost control and swerved off of the highway. As a result, it overturned repeatedly before coming to a stop.

Authorities responded to the scene, but Covington's injuries were fatal. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, police have not indicated what factors may have contributed to the accident. Their investigations are ongoing.
