Robert M. Breed Killed in Jo Daviess County, IL Accident

Jo Daviess County, IL -- A single-vehicle collision took the life of 67-year-old Robert M. Breed in Jo Daviess County, IL Frirday, January 13, 2017.

It appears the incident took place on US Route 20 about 8 p.m.

The details of the crash are sparse, but police say they arrived on the scene to find a burning vehicle. Rescue units attempted to extricate the man from the fiery wreckage, but were unsuccessful. As of the report, it looks like Mr. Breed's vehicle veered off the roadway, rolled down an embankment, and subsequently caught fire. The report made no mention of other injuries related to the incident.

The official investigation is ongoing and may reveal more details as it concludes.
