Norman Leavitt Injured in Caldwell, ID, 18-wheeler Accident

Caldwell, ID -- January 17, 2017, Norman Leavitt was injured due to an accident in which his and another 18-wheeler collided on the interstate.

51-year-old Leavitt and 53-year-old Allen Viall were both driving 18-wheelers at the time. Leavitt transferred from Centennial Way onto eastbound I-84.

As his truck pulled onto the roadway, his vehicle and Viall's vehicle made contact with each other in the left traffic lane. As a result, the trucks lost control and slammed into a concrete barricade on the side of the highway.

Following the crash, both drivers were examined by emergency services. Viall was not injured, while Leavitt was transported to West Valley Medical Center with non-critical injuries.

Authorities did not report any charges or citations resulting from the incident. They say the incident remains under investigation.
