Teen Hurt in Marlin, TX, School Bus Accident on County Road 122

Marlin, TX -- January 18, 2017, a teenager was injured following an accident where an Academy ISD school bus and an 18-wheeler crashed on County Road 122.

Officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the accident which occurred around 4:30 p.m. It happened just east of Highway 6.

Preliminary reports indicate that an 18-wheeler was attempting to turn off the roadway, and an Academy ISD school bus attempted to go around it. The two vehicles somehow crashed into each other in the process.

One of the students on-board the bus, a 16-year-old, suffered a head injury. She was taken to a hospital for examination. Other students on the bus had minor injuries, none of which were taken to a hospital.

At this time, authorities did not say who was at fault for the accident. Their investigations are ongoing.
