Jason Sammons Killed, One Hurt in Accident in Sioux Falls, SD

Sioux Falls, SD -- A two-vehicle semi-truck collision claimed the life of 43-year-old Jason Sammons and left one hurt Sunday, January 15, 2017 in the area of Sioux Falls, SD.

Sources say the incident took place on Interstate 229 about 4:30 a.m.

It appears the vehicle occupied by the deceased victim was headed north when it collided with a guard rail. The vehicle then fell to the street below, striking a second vehicle. The driver of that vehicle, an unidentified female, was left with minor injuries. The cause of the incident has yet to be determined. It is unclear if Mr. Sammons was killed at the scene of the incident.

Officials are examining the details of the incident.
