Child Injured in Durham, NC, School Bus Accident on Roxboro

Durham, NC -- January 18, 2017, a child was injured as the result of an accident in which a bus and a passenger car crashed on Roxboro Street.

Durham authorities were called to the accident scene at about 8:00 a.m. The crash happened at the intersection of South Roxboro Street and Summit Street.

According to early police reports, the school bus was traveling northbound on Roxboro. It attempted to make a left turn onto Summit, putting it in the path of a southbound passenger car. As a result, the car could not stop in time and crashed into the side of the bus.

Following the accident, emergency services arrived on the scene to examine those involved. No children from the bus were injured, but a child from the car had minor injuries. That person was transported to the hospital.

At this time, police have not said if any charges or citations have been issued. Their investigations are ongoing.
