Paul Pittman Killed in Accident in Austin, TX

Austin, TX -- A collision between a passenger vehicle and a bicyclist claimed the life of 61-year-old Paul Pittman in Austin, TX January 8, 2017.

It appears the victim was riding his bike on the Riata Trace Parkway about 3:30 p.m. when the incident happened. The report claims the bicyclist was struck near a frontage road at U.S. 183 by a Ford Explorer. Mr. Pittman was taken to a nearby hospital, but was declared dead a short time later.

It is unclear at this time what cause the deadly incident.

The official investigation is currently underway and officials hope to learn more as it concludes.

The report provided no further information at the time of its release.
