Two Injured in Houston, TX, Police Chase Accident on Hempstead

Houston, TX -- January 14, 2017, two men were injured as the result of an accident in which their vehicle rolled while fleeing police on Hempstead.

Houston Police officials report that the accident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Hempstead Highway.

Their preliminary accident reports indicate that two men were inside of a Chevrolet car that was allegedly speeding. Police officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, and the vehicle began to flee officer pursuit.

As they drove down the highway, the vehicle somehow lost control. The car veered off the side of the shoulder, crashed, and overturned repeatedly before finally coming to a stop.

Following the crash, both men were trapped inside the vehicle. EMS crews had to extract them before they transported to a nearby hospital. The driver had critical injuries, while his passenger sustained only minor injuries.

Police did not say what if any charges the men might face. Their investigations are ongoing.
