One Injured in Austin, TX, Multi-Car Accident At I-35 & Rundberg

Austin, TX -- January 15, 2017, at least one person was injured following an accident in which multiple vehicles, including an 18-wheeler, crashed on I-35.

Austin-Travis County emergency crews were called to the accident scene at around 12:30 p.m. It occurred just outside a Chevron station off the I-35 service road and Rundberg Lane.

According to preliminary reports, at least four vehicles, including a pickup and an 18-wheeler, somehow crossed paths at the intersection. This caused them to collide into each other, forcing some of the vehicles off-road in the process.

As a result of the collision, one person reported serious injuries. Emergency crews transported that person to University Medical Center Brackenridge. Three other people suffered minor injuries for which they refused treatment.

Authorities did not elaborate on how the accident occurred. They say investigations are ongoing.
