5 Injured in Forney, TX, Head-on Accident at I-20 & FM 741
Forney, TX -- January 15, 2017, five people sustained injuries following an accident in which two vehicles collided head-on along I-20.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that the collision took place at the intersection of I-20 and FM 741 at about 1:00 p.m.
According to their preliminary investigations, a Chevy Silverado was traveling eastbound on the interstate carrying four people--a father and his three young children. For reasons unclear, the pickup lost control and went over the median into westbound lanes. The pickup then overturned.
As the pickup flipped over, it collided with an oncoming Ford Mustang. Due to this, both vehicles ran off the side of the road up the FM 741 embankment.
After the crash, the father, his children, and the driver of the Mustang all suffered injuries. Reports say that the Mustang driver was critically injured. They were all taken to Baylor MEdical Center in Dallas for treatment.
Authorities say the cause of the accident is still under investigation. No further details are available.
