One Injured in Truck Accident on I-20 in Kilgore, TX

Kilgore, TX -- A collision involving three vehicles left the driver of a semi-truck with undisclosed injuries on Interstate 20 East in Kilgore, TX Monday, January 16, 2017.

The details of the incident are unclear, but officials say the crash took place about 4 p.m.

It looks like one of the semi-trucks was stopped due to an accident ahead in traffic on the highway. The second truck came upon the stopped rig after coming over a rise on the interstate. The driver of the first semi, seeing the second truck barreling towards him, attempted to move his vehicle from the path of the collision. In an attempted evasive maneuver, the truck pulled into a ditch, but was unable to avoid the collision. The two vehicles collided, then subsequently struck a third vehicle; a UPS truck. One of the vehicles flipped over, trapping the driver within.

The driver of the overturned vehicle, whose identity has not been disclosed, was transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.

The official investigation is currently underway.
