Two Injured in Nolan County, TX, Pickup Accident on Highway 70

Nolan County, TX -- January 16, 2017, two people sustained injuries following a single-vehicle accident where a pickup crashed on Highway 70.

Nolan County emergency teams were called out to the accident scene at around 7:30 a.m. It took place just south of Sweetwater along Highway 70.

Preliminary reports have stated that two people were traveling down the highway when the pickup suddenly lost control. This caused the pickup to lose control and crash into the guardrail.

The pickup sustained severe damage, and the two occupants were trapped in the vehicle. Rescue teams took some time to extract them before they were able to transport them to a hospital. One required transport via helicopter to Hendrick Medical Center. The other was taken via ground ambulance to Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

At this time, authorities were not clear on exactly what occurred in the accident. Their investigations are ongoing.
