2 Injured in Texarkana, AR 18-wheeler Accident by Four State Pkwy

Texarkana, AR -- January 12, 2017, two people were injured as the result of an 18-wheeler accident where a pickup and a semi crashed on I-30.

Authorities from the Texarkana Fire Department responded to the accident scene at about 1:00 p.m. The crash happened along I-30 near the intersection of Four State Parkway.

According to preliminary reports, a pickup with two passengers was traveling westbound on the interstate. For reasons that are not clear, the pickup crossed paths with an 18-wheeler, and a collision occurred. This collision caused the pickup to run off the road and through a nearby fence.

The two people in the pickup suffered unspecified injuries. EMS transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment. The 18-wheeler driver was not injured.

Authorities did not elaborate on how the accident occurred. Their investigations are ongoing.
