One Injured in Kaufman County, TX, 18-wheeler Accident on I-20

Kaufman County, TX -- January 13, 2017, one person was injured as the result of an accident where vehicle ran into the back of an 18-wheeler on I-20.

Officials from the Kaufman County Sheriff's Department responded to the accident scene along eastbound I-20 just before 3:30 a.m.

According to initial reports, a passenger vehicle was driving eastbound on the interstate. For reasons yet to be determined, the vehicle crossed paths with an 18-wheeler, and the car crashed into the back of the trailer.

Following the collision, county emergency crews rushed to the scene. The driver of the car was transported to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. Their condition was not specified. The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured.

Authorities did not report any citations or charges following the crash. Their investigations are ongoing.
