Zivko Lakic Killed in Truck Accident Silver Springs Twp., NY

Mechanicsburg, PA -- A hit-and-run collision between two tractor-trailers claimed the life of Zivko Lakic on Interstate 81 about 6 a.m. in Silver Springs Twp., NY.

Officials say a big rig was pulled to the roadside and parked in the northbound lanes of Interstate 81. Within moments, a second truck crashed into the driver of the stopped vehicle. It is claimed the driver of the second semi, 56-year-old Alan Kegel, fled the scene of the incident. The driver of the stopped semi, Mr. Lakic, was killed in the incident. Mr. Kegel, a resident of Texas, has since been charged with multiple offenses related to the collision.

The official investigation into the incident is currently underway.

The details provided by the media report are sparse as the incident is still under investigation.
