One Killed in Truck Rollover Accident on Sunrise Highway, Wantagh, NY Accident

Wantagh, NY -- A single-vehicle truck crash claimed the life of an unidentified driver on the Sunrise Highway about 7:40 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017.

A 2007 Freightliner box truck headed west on the sunrise highway lost control and collided with a guard rail. The vehicle then careened off the road, flipped over and landed on top of a group of vehicles parked in train station parking lot. The driver was reportedly trapped within the vehicle, and was killed at the scene after the tractor-trailer caught fire.

The deceased victim's identity had yet to be disclosed pending the official investigation.

Authorities were in the process of examining the details of the collision in the hopes of determining a cause.

The report left no more information regarding the deadly crash.
