Richard Clark Killed, Ashley Williams Hurt in Freeport, ME Accident

Freeport, ME -- Richard Clark was killed, Ashley Williams was hurt in a crash between a passenger car and a semi-truck in the area of Freeport, ME on Interstate 295.

Officials say the incident took place on Interstate 295 about 10:15 a.m.

Mr. Clark was the sole occupant of a tractor-trailer that flipped over after attempting to avoid a car spinning out of control. The driver of the big rig was killed at the scene of the incident. Ms. Williams, the driver of the car, was transported to Maine Medical Center with injuries described as "minor."

Following the deadly incident, a large portion of the highway was closed for several hours.

Officials are currently investigating the incident and hope to learn more as it concludes.
