Michael Ioannidis Injured in Mount Pleasant, NY, DWI Accident

Mount Pleasant, NY -- January 12, 2017, Michael Ioannidis was injured following an accident where his car was hit by an alleged drunk driver.

New York State Police investigated the incident. They say it occurred in the northbound lanes of Taconic State Parkway.

Authorities say that Sawyer White was driving his vehicle southbound in northbound traffic lanes. As a result, his vehicle crossed paths with 62-year-old Ioannidis's oncoming vehicle. The two cars crashed into each other head-on.

Ioannidis sustained unspecified injuries in the collision and was taken to a nearby hospital. White was treated and released at the scene.

Authorities determined that White showed signs of intoxication, and upon testing, his BAC was .27 percent. They placed him under arrest, and he currently faces charges of driving while intoxicated.
