Savannah Michelle Young Killed in Car Accident near Collinsville, AL

Collinsville, AL -- A single-vehicle incident on Interstate 59 about 6:40 p.m. claimed the life of 18-year-old Savannah Michelle Young Friday, January 6, 2017.

Sources say a vehicle containing the deceased victim careened off the roadway, flipped and crashed into a guard rail. The details of the incident had yet to be determined by investigators. Representatives with the Alabama State Patrol claim Mrs. Young was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident, though this could not be confirmed. It is unknown if the victim was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The official investigation is currently underway and officials hope to learn more as it concludes.
