Joey Salas Injured in Dallas, TX, Hit-and-run Accident

Dallas, TX -- January 10, 2017, Joey Salas suffered serious injuries due to an accident in which a driver hit him and fled the scene.

Dallas Police officials say that the incident occurred at the intersection of 12th Street and Adams Avenue Tuesday evening.

According to police reports, 42-year-old Salas was in a wheelchair traveling down 12th Street. He attempted to cross the Adams intersection where a vehicle failed to see him. The vehicle struck him, throwing him onto the roadway. The vehicle then fled the scene.

Salas was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries. Reports say he may require amputation as a result of the accident.

Authorities have yet to locate the suspect driver in this case. Further information was not available.
