Man Killed, Child Hurt in Car Accident at 156th and York Street in Thornton, CO

Thornton, CO -- One person was killed and a child was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 156th and York Street in the area of Thornton, CO Sunday, January 8, 2017.

It appears a vehicle driven by an unidentified female was southbound when it struck a second vehicle. A male victim, whose identity had yet to be disclosed, an occupant in the second vehicle, was killed at the scene. A juvenile victim in the second vehicle was reportedly left with injuries.

The collision left an area between 149th and 156th closed for several hours.

The official investigation is currently underway and police are viewing it as alcohol related.

The preliminary report provided no further information at the time of its release.
