Woman Killed, Two Injured in South Kona, HI Highway 11 Accident

South Kona, HI -- A head-on collision left a 34-year-old woman dead and two people with injuries on Highway 11 in South Kona, HI Friday, January 6, 2017.

Investigators say the vehicle containing the deceased victim was in the area of mile marker 97 when the incident took place. The details are unclear, but officials say the deceased woman was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Two people in the other vehicle, a 66-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman were pinned within in their vehicle. The nature of their injuries had yet be divulged.

The official investigation is currently underway.

The preliminary media report left no more information regarding the deadly incident.
