Man Killed in Accident at Poplar Street and Shoemaker Lane in Agawam, MA

Agawam, MA -- A single-vehicle collision claimed the life of a man at the intersection of Poplar Street and Shoemaker Lane in the area of Agawam, MA. The incident occurred Friday, January 6, 2017.

While little is known of the incident, investigators say the man was killed after striking a tree. Emergency crews arrived to the scene and transported the man to Baystate Medical Center. The report says the man succumbed to his injuries a short time later. The investigation had yet to confirm the man's identity. The cause of the deadly incident is unclear.

The official investigation is currently being conducted and authorities hope to learn more as it concludes.
